Winnipeg FAQ
What does it cost?
Four things set the price: floor area, how much is in the space (fixtures, exposed services, millwork), the deliverables you choose and travel. Point cloud plus 2D CAD is the base; Revit is an add-on. The quote is itemized.
Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
For most buildings, yes. The scan is one visit by one technician; registration, drafting and modeling happen afterward in our office, so the travel line is a small share of a whole-building job.
How accurate is it?
We use Leica RTC360, Leica BLK2GO and Matterport Pro3 scanners and draw from the point cloud, so every dimension is measured on site rather than carried over from old plans.
Does the building have to close?
No. We work around tenants, staff and the public, and can scan outside business hours where that is easier.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes. The set is prepared as the existing-conditions base your architect or engineer files with the City of Winnipeg's Planning, Property and Development Department. Building permits are reviewed against the Manitoba Building Code and the Winnipeg Building By-law, and where a development permit is required it must be obtained before the building permit application is submitted. Your design professional makes the submission.
Who owns the files?
You do. CAD, PDF, Revit and the point cloud go to you and your consultants.
