Project Overview
ADS delivered precise as-built drawing services for the MacMillan Theatre, a historic performing arts venue at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music. Our as-built documentation team captured existing building conditions to support renovation planning, ensuring accurate record drawings that preserve the theatre's original architectural character while enabling structural and technical modernization.
Deliverables
High-Accuracy Point Cloud: Captured comprehensive LiDAR point cloud data of the theatre, providing precise existing conditions for architectural design, renovation, and coordination.
2D CAD Drawings: Accurate floor plans, seating layouts, stage areas, and architectural documentation.
LOD 300 Revit Model: Developed a coordinated Scan-to-BIM model representing the theatre's architectural elements for design development and project planning.
Matterport Virtual Tour: Delivered an interactive walkthrough that enabled remote site review, team collaboration, and efficient project coordination.
Our Role & Technology
Our as-built drawing specialists surveyed the MacMillan Theatre using terrestrial 3D scanning to record every architectural and structural detail, from the seating bowl to backstage areas. The resulting survey data was translated into precise as-built drawings and a coordinated model to guide the renovation team. Tools Used:
