National City FAQ
What does it cost?
Floor area, complexity and deliverables set the price. A shell is cheaper to document than a finished space with millwork and exposed MEP; point cloud and CAD is the base tier and a Revit model adds drafting time. Travel to National City is quoted as a separate line. Every quote is itemized.
Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
For a single small room, often not. For a tenant improvement, a multi-unit building or anything that will be drawn in Revit, measured geometry usually saves more than the travel costs, and the same team has recently documented several buildings across San Diego County.
How accurate is it?
We scan with Leica RTC360 and BLK2GO scanners and Matterport Pro3 and draw from the point cloud, so dimensions are measured rather than assumed. Out-of-square walls and uneven floors are drawn as found.
Does the building have to close?
No. We work around staff and customers, and after-hours scanning can be arranged.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
The set is prepared as the existing-conditions base for your design professional's submittal to the National City Building Division (1243 National City Blvd). Applications filed on or after January 1, 2026 are reviewed under the 2025 California codes.
Who owns the files?
You do. CAD, PDF, Revit and the point cloud are delivered to you and your consultants.
