Gardena FAQ
What does it cost?
Four things set the price: floor area, how complex the interior is, which deliverables you order and travel. Point cloud plus 2D CAD is the base tier; Revit adds drafting time. The quote is itemized so you can drop any line.
Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
Usually, yes. Gardena is a short drive from our other Los Angeles County work, travel is a single line on the quote, and the scan takes hours. The drafting, which is most of the cost, is the same wherever the building stands.
How accurate is it?
Dimensions come from the point cloud captured with Leica RTC360 and BLK2GO scanners or a Matterport Pro3, not from a tape. Walls that are out of square are drawn out of square.
Does the building have to close?
No. We work around staff, tenants and customers, and after-hours scanning can be arranged for busy floors.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes. Your architect or engineer submits them as the existing-conditions base to the City of Gardena Building & Safety Division at 1700 West 162nd Street, which issues building permits and accepts applications by email. Applications filed on or after January 1, 2026 are reviewed under the 2025 California codes.
Who owns the files?
You do. CAD, PDF, Revit and the point cloud go to you and your consultants.
