Calgary FAQ
What does it cost?
Area, complexity, deliverables and travel. A shell space with few fixtures is faster to draw than a fitted-out interior; point cloud and 2D CAD is the base tier and a Revit model adds modeling hours. Every quote is itemized so you can remove what you do not need.
Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
Usually yes for anything beyond a small suite. The site visit is a single trip by one technician, and registration, drafting and modeling are done remotely. Travel is a fixed line on the quote, not a surprise.
How accurate is it?
We capture with Leica RTC360, Leica BLK2GO and Matterport Pro3 scanners and draw from the point cloud, so dimensions come from measured data, not tape or old drawings.
Does the building have to close?
No. The technician works around staff and visitors, and evening or weekend scanning can be scheduled for busy floors.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes. We prepare the set as the existing-conditions base your architect or engineer submits with a building permit application to the City of Calgary, whose Planning Services Centre handles permit enquiries. The City accepts only complete applications, with plans prepared to professional drafting standards. Your design professional makes the submission; our job is to make sure the existing conditions in it are right.
Who owns the files?
You do. CAD, PDF, Revit and point cloud files are released to you and your consultants.
