Pittsburgh FAQ
What does it cost?
Floor area, the amount of detail inside, the deliverables you choose and travel drive the price. Point cloud and 2D CAD is the base tier; a Revit model is priced on top of it. Every quote is itemized by line.
Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
For anything larger than a single room, usually yes. The scan takes one visit, travel is a single line on the quote, and you receive a point cloud and digital twin along with the drawings, which a measured hand survey does not give you.
How accurate is it?
We draw from a registered point cloud captured with Leica RTC360, Leica BLK2GO and Matterport Pro3 scanners, so sloping floors, racked walls and odd angles in older Pittsburgh buildings appear as they are rather than as idealized rectangles.
Does the building have to close?
No. We scan around tenants, patients, students and shoppers during normal hours and can arrange after-hours visits for spaces that never empty.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes. The set is prepared as the existing-conditions base your architect or engineer submits with the application. In Pittsburgh that goes to the Department of Permits, Licenses and Inspections (PLI), which takes applications through the OneStopPGH portal and issues separate permits for building work and for each system, so electrical, mechanical, fire alarm and suppression permits are filed alongside the building permit. Your design professional handles the submittal; we make sure the existing conditions in it are right.
Who owns the files?
You do. CAD, PDF, Revit and the point cloud are delivered to you and your consultants.
