Texas City FAQ
What does it cost?
Floor area, interior complexity, the deliverables you choose and travel. Open industrial space is quick to scan; a finished office or a house full of cabinetry takes longer. Point cloud and 2D CAD is the base; Revit adds drafting time. Quotes are itemized.
Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
Usually. The scan is the short part; registration and drafting happen afterwards, off site. Travel is its own line on the quote, so the comparison with a local survey is straightforward.
How accurate is it?
Everything is drafted from a point cloud captured with Leica RTC360, Leica BLK2GO or Matterport Pro3 scanners. Dimensions are measured, not inherited from old plans.
Does the building have to close?
No. Scanning is non-contact and the technician works around staff and operations. Shops, offices and homes stay open.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes. Texas City's Building Inspections department, at 7800 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, handles building permits; your architect or engineer submits the application with our set as the existing-conditions base.
Who owns the files?
You do. CAD, PDF, Revit and the point cloud go to you and your consultants.
