Tacoma FAQ
What does it cost?
Cost follows the floor area, how much there is to draw, the deliverables you pick and travel. A point cloud with 2D CAD is the base package; a Revit model adds modeling time. Every quote is itemized.
Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
We have no Tacoma office, so travel is quoted on its own line. Our Auburn project is a short distance away, and the itemized quote lets you judge the trip against the whole.
How accurate is it?
The building is scanned with Leica RTC360, Leica BLK2GO or Matterport Pro3 equipment and every drawing is drafted from the registered point cloud, so what you see is measured, not inferred.
Does the building have to close?
No. Stores, offices and warehouses keep running; the technician works around people and stock, and off-hours scanning is available.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes. Your architect or engineer uses the set as the existing-conditions base for a tenant improvement, remodel or change-of-use application to the City of Tacoma's Planning and Development Services, which runs its permitting online through TacomaPermits.org. They file the application; we make sure the existing conditions in it are correct.
Who owns the files?
You do. The point cloud, CAD, PDF and Revit files are delivered to you and your consultants.
