What you get

Salinas has downtown storefronts and offices, and packing and cold-storage facilities on the edge of town, and the as-built method is the same for all of them. ADS scans the building with LiDAR and registers the scans into a 3D point cloud. From that cloud we draft 2D CAD in AutoCAD and PDF (floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and sections), build a Revit model at LOD 200–300 when BIM is required, and produce a 360° digital twin you can walk through online. MEP and structural elements are captured when they are in scope, and BOMA or REBNY area calculations can be added on request.

We have not yet published a project within 150 miles of Salinas. The nearest is the Veterinary Clinic Unit in Grass Valley, a 3,754 sq ft single-level clinic in a retail complex surveyed in July 2024, where we documented walls, partitions and ceiling-mounted MEP and delivered the point cloud, digital twin, AutoCAD and PDF sheets and a photo record within eight days. In Southern California we scanned a 1,000 sq ft entryway and hall in Sherman Oaks with a Matterport Pro3 and the 3,117 sq ft second floor of a historic Olvera Street building in Los Angeles with Leica equipment.

How a Salinas project runs: you send the address, square footage and deliverables, and we return an itemized quote with travel shown as its own line. A technician scans the building while it stays in use. The scans are registered, the drawings are drafted from the point cloud, and you review the set before final delivery.

Salinas FAQ

What does it cost?
Floor area, the amount of equipment and fit-out in the space, the deliverables you select and travel set the price. Point cloud plus 2D CAD is the base tier; a Revit model adds modeling time. Quotes are itemized.

Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
We do not have a crew based in Monterey County, so travel is shown as its own line. For most jobs it is a small part of the total, and the Grass Valley clinic, also a travel job, was delivered in eight days.

How accurate is it?
We scan with Leica RTC360 and BLK2GO scanners and the Matterport Pro3, and draft from the point cloud. Every dimension in the set was measured on site.

Does the building have to close?
No. A packing house, office or store keeps operating while the technician works through it; the scanner moves around people and equipment. Off-shift scanning can be arranged.

Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes. Your architect or engineer submits the set as the existing-conditions base to the City of Salinas Permit Services Division, through the Permit Center at 65 West Alisal Street or the city's online permit portal. Applications filed on or after 1 January 2026 are reviewed under the 2025 California codes.

Who owns the files?
You do. CAD, PDF, Revit and the point cloud are delivered to you and your consultants.
