What you get

The quickest way to describe an ADS as-built is this: a technician scans your building with LiDAR, we register the scans into one 3D point cloud, and your drawings are drafted from that point cloud instead of from a tape or an old set that may never have matched the building. Depending on scope, you receive the point cloud itself, a 360° digital twin you can walk through in a browser, 2D CAD in AutoCAD and PDF (floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and sections), a Revit model at LOD 200–300, MEP and structural elements where they are scoped, and BOMA or REBNY area calculations on request.

We have not yet published an Odessa or Midland project. The nearest is Brown Subaru in Amarillo, an 8,200 sq ft dealership we scanned with a Leica RTC360 in November 2024. In Dallas, in spring 2025, we documented the 2,798 sq ft James Perse store at 3337 N Fitzhugh Avenue and a 4,635 sq ft single-level brick and wood home in Hillcrest.

How an Odessa project runs: send the address, approximate square footage and the deliverables you want, and we return an itemized quote with travel to West Texas priced as its own line. The scan is a single visit and the building keeps operating; a dealership, shop or office is scanned around the people working in it. The point cloud is registered, the drawings are drafted from it, and you review the set before we release the final files.

Odessa FAQ

What does it cost?
The price depends on floor area, how much there is to draw (a pre-engineered metal shop with a few offices drafts faster than a fitted-out showroom or clinic), the deliverables you pick and travel. Point cloud with 2D CAD is the entry tier; a Revit model adds modelling time. Each quote is itemized so you can remove what you do not need.

Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
For a whole building it usually is. One scan visit captures every wall, slab, clear height and exposed service, and the drawings come from that record, so there is no return trip for a dimension nobody wrote down. Travel to Odessa is a separate line on the quote, and you can weigh it against the job before you decide.

How accurate is it?
We scan with Leica RTC360 and BLK2GO scanners and Matterport Pro3, and the CAD and Revit sets are drafted from the registered point cloud. Dimensions are measured, not assumed. We state the tolerance that applies to your deliverable in the quote.

Does the building have to close?
No. The technician works through the space while it operates. For a shop floor or service area we coordinate with your supervisor on the day so nothing stops.

Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes. Your architect or engineer uses the set as the existing-conditions base for the submittal to the City of Odessa's building department. The design professional files the application; we make sure the existing conditions in it are right.

Nearby ADS projects

Scanned by our crews in Amarillo and Dallas:

  • Brown Subaru
    Amarillo, TX · 8,200 sq ft · 2024
Renovation works at this Amarillo auto repair center started from a terrestrial LiDAR site survey. The point cloud model became the base for 2D CAD sections, elevations and floor plans, alongside georeferenced orthophotos and a Matterport walkthrough.
  • James Perse, 3337 N Fitzhugh Ave
    Dallas, TX · 2,798 sq ft · 2025
Strong street visibility and parking came with this Dallas corner lot, formerly a pet store. Converting it into a luxury boutique required brand-aligned layout updates, so ADS recorded architectural and MEP conditions for permitting and code compliance.
  • Hillcrest Single-Level Brick & Wood Home
    Dallas, TX · 4,635 sq ft · 2025
Expansive windows framed the custom woodwork, steel and granite of this single-story Preston Hollow residence. A full LiDAR survey inside and out also recorded the surrounding vegetation and unique textures to support precise renovation planning.

Permits & governing bodies
Building permits for work inside the city limits are issued by the City of Odessa (odessa-tx.gov).
Your architect or engineer files the permit; our drawings are the existing-conditions base it is filed on.

Where we work
Downtown Odessa, the 42nd Street and JBS Parkway corridors, the Odessa College and UTPB area, West Odessa, Gardendale and Midland.
