Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
Often, yes. Scanning is a single visit and everything after it is done from the point cloud, so travel is one line on the quote. If you have more than one building in the Tri-Cities, scanning them on the same trip spreads that cost.
How accurate is it?
Dimensions are measured from the point cloud, not estimated. Wall positions, ceiling heights, openings and structure are recorded as they are, which is what an architect or engineer needs before designing a change.
Does the building have to close?
No. Stores, offices, clinics and warehouses stay open while we scan. We work around staff and customers and can schedule early or late where a space is busy.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes. Your architect or engineer uses the set as the existing-conditions base for the submittal. In Kennewick, building permits are handled by the Building Safety Division at City Hall, 210 W 6th Avenue. The design professional handles the application; we make sure the existing conditions are right.
Who owns the files?
You do. Point cloud, CAD, PDF and Revit files are yours to share with any consultant or contractor.
