El Centro FAQ
What does it cost?
Four things set it: floor area, complexity (an empty warehouse versus a finished office with exposed mechanical), the deliverables you choose, and travel. Point cloud and 2D CAD is the lowest tier; a Revit model adds drafting time. Quotes are itemized.
Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
That is the honest question for El Centro, and the answer depends on the job. Travel is quoted as its own line. For a packing house, a cold-storage building or a multi-building site it is a small share of the total; for one small tenant space it may not be, and we will tell you so.
How accurate is it?
We measure with Leica RTC360 and BLK2GO scanners or a Matterport Pro3 and draw from the point cloud, so dimensions are recorded, not estimated. Our San Diego industrial project was captured at millimeter-level accuracy with its conduits and equipment modeled in Revit.
Does the building have to close?
No. The technician works around operations, and scanning can be scheduled early or late to avoid the heat and the busiest hours.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes, as the existing-conditions base in your architect's or engineer's submittal. El Centro permits go through the Community Development Department's Building & Safety Division at 1275 Main Street, which handles plan checking and permit issuance. Applications filed on or after January 1, 2026 are reviewed under the 2025 California codes.
Who owns the files?
You do. We deliver CAD, PDF, Revit and the point cloud to you and whoever you name.

- Commercial Building in San Diego
San Diego, CA · 26,580 sq ft · 2024
Roof imagery for the 26,580 sq ft downtown building came from aerial drone photogrammetry, combined with high-accuracy 3D scanning. Outputs included an LOD 300 Revit model, georeferenced orthophotos, a Matterport walkthrough for off-site stakeholders, and coordinated 2D CAD drawings. - Commercial Facility at Thornmint Court
San Diego, CA · 5,300 sq ft · 2025
A 5,300 sq ft industrial space in Rancho Bernardo's business district, documented for renovation and system upgrades. ADS delivered E57 LiDAR scans, an AutoCAD floor plan, an LOD 300 architecture and MEP Revit model, and an online 3D viewer. - Solana Beach Shopping Mall
Solana Beach, CA · 146,404 sq ft · 2025
Blending aerial and ground scans gave consistent coverage of this shopping center's indoor and outdoor zones. Remote walkthroughs kept the project moving without disrupting active tenants. - Multi-Tenant Suites, Silver Spur Road
Rolling Hills Estates, CA · 4,700 sq ft · 2024
ADS turned LiDAR scans of both suites and their shared exterior into Revit and CAD deliverables, covering walls, ceilings and MEP, with annotations set up for architectural and permitting needs. - Sepulveda - Level 2 Historic Documentation
Los Angeles, CA · 3,117 sq ft · 2026
Standard measurements would not have been enough for the structural quirks of this historic Olvera Street building, so ADS laser-scanned its second level and turned the scans into BIM models that reduced risk for the construction phase.
