What you get
ADS produces as-built drawings from a LiDAR scan rather than from a tape and a clipboard. For a Chapel Hill building that means, depending on scope: a registered 3D point cloud of the whole space; a 360° digital twin you can open in a browser; 2D CAD in AutoCAD and PDF covering floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and sections; and a Revit model at LOD 200–300 for teams working in BIM. MEP and structural elements are documented when scoped. BOMA and REBNY area calculations are available on request.

In Atlanta, the Fendi store at Phipps Plaza (5,132 sq ft) was captured with a Matterport Pro3 in 2022.

What does it cost?
The quote depends on floor area, how much there is to document, the deliverables you select and travel. Point cloud and 2D CAD alone is the lowest tier; a Revit model adds drafting hours. Everything is itemized.
Is it worth bringing you in from out of town?
For a whole building, a mixed-use property or a BIM deliverable, one scan trip replaces several measuring visits and travel is a small share of the cost. For a single small room it may not be, and we will tell you.
How accurate is it?
Measurements are taken from the point cloud, captured with a Leica RTC360, Leica BLK2GO or Matterport Pro3, so the drawings match the building as it stands.
Does the building have to close?
No. Restaurants, shops, offices and residences stay in use while we work.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes, as the existing-conditions base in the set your architect or engineer files. In Chapel Hill, permits and inspections are issued by the Town of Chapel Hill's Building Development Services at Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., which also runs the Online Permit Center. Your design professional handles the submittal.
Who owns the files?
You do. CAD, PDF, Revit and the point cloud are delivered to you and your consultants.
