Does the building have to close?
No. A home, shop or office stays in use while the technician works through it. After-hours scanning can be arranged.
Will the drawings work for my permit?
Yes, as the existing-conditions base your architect or engineer submits. Bowie has two layers: Prince George's County's Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) has exclusive authority over construction-code approval and inspection, and a separate City of Bowie permit confirms compliance with the Bowie City Code; the City's application requires a copy of the County permit and the County-approved plans. Your design professional handles both filings; we make sure the existing conditions in them are correct.
